Do I Need Renters Insurance?
When you move into a home, you’re not just renting a space; you’re creating a place for your life. That’s why renters insurance is an important part. It helps protect your personal belongings and can provide peace of mind in the event of an unexpected event. We strongly suggest renters insurance for all of our residents.
At Pros PM, we’ve made the process simple through LeaseGuard.
You have two options:
Bring your own renters insurance policy that meets our guidelines and upload it to LeaseGuard. This is a great way to protect your personal belongings while also meeting your lease requirements.
Use the LeaseGuard liability waiver program for $20/month. This option provides $100,000 in coverage for the property itself, but it does not cover your personal belongings. It is NOT renters insurance and doesn’t protect your belongings.
If you don’t upload your policy and have it verified, you’ll automatically be enrolled in the LeaseGuard option so you stay compliant with your lease. Every person on the lease who is 18 or older must be insured. For example, if there are four individuals on the lease and only two upload their insurance policies, the $20 LeaseGuard liability waiver will be applied to the lease to cover the two without insurance.
