What Do I Need to Know About Living in an HOA Community?

If your Pros PM home is located in a homeowners association (HOA), there are community rules in addition to your lease. Understanding and following those rules is an important part of living in the property and creating the special community an HOA provides.

Am I Responsible for Following the HOA Rules?

Yes. As a resident, you are responsible for following the HOA’s rules and regulations while you live in the community.

HOA requirements and amenities vary from neighborhood to neighborhood and often include parking, vehicles, trash cans, lawn and exterior maintenance, decorations, pets, noise, and the use of common areas.

All residents within an HOA will be provided with the community’s requirements and should familiarize themselves with the expectations when moving in.

What Happens If I Receive an HOA Violation?

If Pros PM receives notice of a violation involving your property, our team will communicate with you about the issue and what needs to be corrected.

Please take these notices seriously and address the issue within the timeframe provided. Many HOA violations can be resolved quickly when they’re addressed right away.

If an HOA assesses a fine, fee, or other charge because of a violation caused by a resident, the resident is financially responsible for that charge. For example, if the trash cans are meant to be out of the street at a certain time, the resident will incur any relevant fines for that violation. Occasionally, fines are meant for the owner of the property, and those are passed along accordingly.

Ignoring a violation can also result in additional notices or escalating fines from the HOA. Please stay in communication with us so we can ensure the issue is dealt with promptly.
